Voice over actors bring scripts to life. They add color, emotion and convey a story in a natural and believable way.

Many people believe they have what it takes to make it in this competitive industry. However, a clear speaking or unique sounding voice is not enough.

Many succesful voice talent endure years of training, learning microphone technique, countless auditions and most importantly host the ability to take direction from producers and audio engineers.

If you are knew to voice overs and don’t have any acting training, you should consider taking an acting class to learn some basic acting skills, like how to be truthful under imaginary circumstance and how to create a fictional character.

Whether you’re auditioning for a voice over in a commercial or for an animated character in a video game, believe it or not, acting skills are even more important than the quality of your voice.

Knowing how to quickly break down a script is equaly as important. Often, commercial voice over scripts are very short, but that doesn’t mean it’s easy. Funilly enough the one line scripts can be actually harder to nail then an entire page of a promo.

There’s a huge difference between a professional voice over actor and one that’s just starting out. Whilst you might try to save a bit of cash trying to get something done quickly, it could end up costing you more in the long run with wasted time and an unuseable recording.
